Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at University of California Davis. She is widely acclaimed for pioneering the study of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory in legal settings. Professor Goodman has published extensively, received many grants and been recognized with several international and national prizes. She has been a consultant to numerous governments and agencies throughout the globe on policy and research concerning children who are victims of the justice system. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She's a member of numerous professional organizations that include Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is a founding member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
